When is it appropriate to give out your cell number when online dating? I believe men are quicker to give out their number. I believe this as I am a man myself. But I don’t exchange numbers unless I have a certain comfort level with the person I am corresponding with. If a woman I am corresponding with is quick to give out her number, it does make me pause and wonder what her true intentions are. Is she lonely? Is she too aggressive? Is she just looking for a good time? ;-)  But it does make me pause. But how do you reach that comfort level? Do you just know? For me I just know. It’s a feel. It’s kind of hard to describe. But I guess it is when you know a little about the person and have a basic understanding of their background,  where they come from and their intentions. These are probably the things that help me get comfortable. For others, their comfort level may different. But I would suggest that you don’t give out your cell number until you feel comfortable.
