Is That You? Really?

Ok...I know there are numerous hubs on this topic and so I had to add my 2 cents on it. People...post recent pictures of yourself on online dating sites! I just don't get it. Why do people (men and women) post pictures that don't represent how they look right now? Do people who do this think that the person they are meeting won't notice that you are 30lbs heavier and losing hair? I know we should all get past the visual stuff and see people for who they are. However, we are visual creatures and what we see in pictures is what we think we are going to get in person.

From my personal experience, I have one experience where I had a date where she did not represent herself correctly on the site. I mean she was 20lbs heavier than what she posted in her profile. However, I could get past this as I am a bit more open when it comes to weight and size. However, it did make me wonder..."Does she not have a realistic view of herself physically?"..."Is deception a part of who she is?". Ultimately it didnt work out. Not because of that but for some other reasons that I may share in another hub.

So here are some tips on posting pics:

  1. If the pic is over 6 months old, its probably time to take some new photos.
  2. Make sure the pics are well lit
  3. Make sure you take picture that is at a decent distance. C'mon...taking a picture from 20 feet away? You dont think we can tell what you are trying to do?

So people save yourself some painful rejection by posting recent quality pics to your profile.
